Our Prize Draw Code Commitments
How we follow the government's code of good practice for prize draw operators.

The Code
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport publishes a Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators. It sets out how operators should protect players, run fair and open draws, and stay accountable. This page explains what we do under each part of it, and the one place where we do something different and why.
Protecting Players
- 18 or over only
- We ask for your date of birth when you create an account, or before your first entry, and refuse anyone under 18 on every entry route, including free postal entry. Every winner completes a photo ID check before a prize is sent, and our marketing is never aimed at under 18s.
- Monthly spend limits
- Card payments and credit top-ups are limited to £250 in each calendar month for everyone. You can set your own lower limit, including £0, in your account settings. Lowering it is instant and raising it takes 7 days. We ask you to choose a limit before your second payment.
- Credit cards
- Because no member can pay us more than £250 a month by any card, credit card spending can never go above the £250 monthly cap the Code sets.
- Breaks and closure
- You can take a break of 1 week or 1 month, self-exclude for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, or close your account permanently, straight away from your account settings. While it runs you cannot enter by any route and get no marketing. See Responsible Gaming.
- Looking out for harm
- We watch for signs that someone may be struggling, such as reaching their spend limit, spending a lot in a short time, repeated declined payments, switching between several cards, frequent top-ups, repeatedly raising a limit, or entering many competitions at once. A member of our team reviews every sign and records what they decide.
- Stepping in
- Depending on what we see, we may get in touch, point you to support, hold reward credit until we have looked, or pause your account so you cannot enter for a while. If we pause your account, we email you to explain and to point you to support.
- Support
- Our Responsible Gaming page lists free, confidential help, including the National Gambling Helpline, National Debtline, Citizens Advice, Samaritans and Mind.
- Responsible marketing
- Our marketing follows the CAP Code. We never present competitions as a way out of money worries, a substitute for work or a route to financial security.
- Complaints
- Complaints are handled in two stages with set timescales, ending in a written final response from a director. See section 18 of our Terms.
Fair and Open Draws
- How draws work
- Every competition explains its rules, closing date, minimum, ticket total and draw time before you enter, and our How It Works page sets out the process in full. Prizes are awarded in line with the laws of chance.
- Random and auditable
- Winners are chosen by a cryptographically secure random process. We publish a commitment before each draw and reveal it afterwards, so anyone can check from the competition page that the result was not changed.
- Equal chances
- Every ticket has the same chance of winning, however it was entered. Free postal entries get the same numbered tickets, up to the same maximum per person, as paid entries.
- Odds before you enter
- Every competition shows the total number of tickets, the number left and the most one person can hold, and the purchase panel shows your odds for the tickets you choose.
- Free entry by post
- Every paid competition can be entered free by post, explained on each competition page and on our Free Entry page.
- Run length
- No competition runs for more than 31 days, and once a competition opens its closing date is fixed. We never move it later, bring it forward or remove it.
- Prizes
- A competition that reaches its minimum is drawn for the full advertised prize, however many tickets remain unsold. We never reduce a prize because sales are low.
Where We Differ
The Code says a draw should not be cancelled because of low ticket sales. We publish a minimum number of tickets on every competition, shown before you enter. If fewer tickets than that are allocated by the closing date, there is no draw and every paid entry is refunded in full.
Why we do this
Our card payment provider requires a published minimum, with a full refund below it, as a condition of accepting card payments for our competitions. We keep it as fair as we can: the minimum is shown before you enter, it can be lowered but never raised once a competition opens, the closing date is never extended to reach it, and a competition that reaches it is always drawn for the full prize.
Accountability
- Keeping to the Code
- We check our measures against the Code whenever we change how Odds Up works, and fix anything that falls short.
- Partners
- We expect anyone who promotes our competitions or helps run them to follow the same standards.
- This page
- We keep this page up to date so you can always see how we follow the Code.
